BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Nov. 15 (PIA)--Barangay Runruno in Quezon town recently received a brand new ambulance for its medical and mobile health services.
The P1.4 million Toyota van cum ambulance, funded by the FCF Minerals Corporation through the barangay-initiated Social Development and Management Plan (SDMP), will be turned-over to Runruno barangay officials.
Runruno Barangay Captain John Babli-ing said the ambulance was requested by their council to further boost their health and medical services for the villagers.
"This is a big help for our barangay since we are far from hospitals. This will be used to transport our sick villagers especially during emergencies and disasters," he said.
The new ambulance was earlier proposed for funding through the SDMP's health component. The SDMP was crafted by the barangay officials hosting the mining project.
Mining law requires the crafting of the SDMP among various stakeholders of affected barangays as a tool guide for community development through the benefits of mining projects.
