HANOI, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam welcomed over 3 million domestic and international visitors during the National Day holiday from Aug. 31 to Sept. 3, 20 percent higher than in last year, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.
The average accommodation occupation rate reached 56 percent during the holiday, an increase of 1.85 percent compared to the same period last year.
The rate reached over 60 percent on Sept. 1 and 2, Vietnam News Agency reported Wednesday.
The number of overseas visitors increased, mostly from the Republic of Korea, the Chinese mainland, China's Taiwan, India, Europe and the United States with an average stay of four to five nights.
The central city of Da Nang, the capital Hanoi and central province of Khanh Hoa were the most chosen destinations of overseas tourists, according to the authority.
