BEIJING, 9th December, 2024 (WAM) -- China's Consumer Price Index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, was up 0.2 percent year-on-year in November, the National Bureau of Statistics said Monday.
According to China Central Television (CCTV), the CPI increased by 0.1 percent in urban areas and by 0.2 percent in rural areas. Food prices rose by 1.0 percent, while prices for non-food items remained unchanged.
Additionally, consumer goods prices remained stable compared to the same month in the previous year, while service prices saw an increase of 0.4 percent, as reported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
On average from January to November, the national CPI showed a 0.3 percent increase compared with the same period of the previous year, said the NBS.
On a month-on-month basis, the CPI decreased by 0.6 percent in November, with urban and rural areas both seeing a decline of 0.6 percent. Food prices dropped by 2.7 percent from the previous month, while non-food prices dipped by 0.1 percent.
Consumer goods prices slid by 0.7 percent month-on-month, and service prices saw a decline of 0.3 percent, according to the NBS.
